One of the key principles of Deeside Mineral Water is to continually adopt the most environmentally friendly approach to business that will ensure the long-term protection of our local area and beyond. We must look after the planet that looks after us.

We are constantly looking at ways to reduce our impact on the environment, and encourage our suppliers to do the same. Recent developments have included improvements in the following areas:

Energy Consumption

Our recently upgraded bottling plant benefits from the efficiency of modern production and distribution methods. This ensures that power consumption is as low as it possibly can be.

Our Packaging & Bottles

We have reduced the weight of our glass bottles by almost 15% and use recycled and recyclable glass. The average clear glass bottle is made using at least 45% recycled material and this is increasing all the time with greater recycling. We have reduced the weight of our plastic bottles, which are recyclable and have reduced plastic wrapping by 15% on each case and by 60% on each pallet. 90% of all cardboard is re-used internally, and the remaining 10% is recycled, with all our trays made from 100% recycled and recyclable material.

Small things can make a difference

We take on board all the simple things that we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. From using energy-saving light bulbs to switching off appliances that aren’t being used, to using the back of scrap paper, the whole team at Deeside Mineral Water leads by example – and we continue to look at ways to improve!
